The Atlanta-based Southern rock/country band Blackberry Smoke can now add beer to its portfolio.
The band and Asheville, N.C.-based Asheville Brewing Co. partnered to produce a beer together in order to raise awareness and funding for their non-profit interests.
A portion of the proceeds raised from the sale of the beer is dedicated to Shepherd’s Men, the advocacy and fundraising group linked to Atlanta’s Shepherd’s Center/SHARE Military Initiative. The initiative was developed as a means of treating military veterans who have suffered from traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as a result of their combat service in post-2001 wars.
