India Pale Ale | ABV: 7.4 %
This unfiltered, fruit-forward IPA has assertive hop notes and a fluffy body. Select aromatic hops, including Galaxy, Citra, and Hallertau Blanc give this beer grape and stone fruit aromas and flavor. That’s balanced by a light, but bready malt bill, which includes toasted flaked and naked golden oats. At 7.4% ABV, this IPA can creep up on you. It’s gonna be a little hazy, y’all. Beware; you may make bad choices drinking this beer—such as jumping into a freezing cold swimming pool with someone who is not your wife.
This beer was brewed in celebration of our “April Comedy Month” series of movie showings at our Merrimon Avenue location. The second in the series is “National Lampoon’s Vacation”! So many people love “Christmas Vacation”, but the original movie of the “Vacation” series is without a doubt the funniest. Chevy Chase was at the top of his game as Clark Griswold, and he made the character an all-time comedy icon. This is the movie where we first meet Cousin Eddie and his backwoods, dysfunctional family. Christie Brinkley was introduced to the world and became an instant star. Anthony Michael Hall, John Candy, and Eugene Levy were all hilarious in one of their earliest roles. And it will come as no surprise the script was written by the 80’s movie writer/director genius, John Hughes. It’s pretty amazing how much pop culture influence Hughes had on the 1980s.
This beer will be released at 5 p.m. on April 11 at both Asheville Brewing’s downtown and North Asheville locations.
